I might finally be losing it...

It took five kids in quick order but yep, I think they have done me in!

You remember I had forgotten St. Patrick's Day right? It gets better... (No! I didn't forget Easter!)

I was pretty excited to get a cute little invitation from one of Ian's church friends for a birthday party! He is in Ian's church class but he also goes to Duncan's preschool because he is in a wheelchair. (They will likely be in the same class when Ian gets to go to school next year.) Ian was excited about it and we talked about it quite a bit. So when Thursday rolled around I had Ian hop out of bed from his nap early to get ready to go to Kyle's house for a party! (Never mind that I had forgotten to get a little gift for Kyle so I had to run to the store while the kids were in school that morning...)

We pull up and no one else was there. I see one of their other daughter's on the parkway with her wheel chair, happy as can be, making friends. Not too far behind her Kyle and their mom. I thought what an odd time it was to take a walk, being that it is right before his party... So that got me thinking, I grabbed the invitation and the party was the DAY BEFORE! Yes, we missed it! So I was going to go with the whole "we missed the party but brought a present" thing but I am not very good at it since the mom knew exactly what the deal was.

So they had an impromptu play date! Ian stayed over to play a little while. I felt terrible! A crash play date! Bad neighbor!

Our neighborhood does an annual little Easter Egg hunt for the kids and I got the invitation and thought we would run over and do it. It's getting more fun to do these things as Duncan and Ian are finding so many new neighbor friends. It was on Saturday (right?) at 11:00 so that would work easily for us even if we did a city hunt or something.

So on Friday I got all the kids ready to go and we headed out the door to go on a walk/bike ride! (This needs it's own paragraph because I don't think everyone understands what this all entails...)

As we are headed out the neighbor asked if we were headed to the hunt. What? What? While I think we would have made it in time I didn't have any eggs to contribute so alas. No, we would miss it! Ugh! Really?! I avoided that area of the neighborhood until I knew they were done and then we stopped to say hi. We ran into a cute little person who shared an egg with Duncan and Ian. It was so sweet. Nice little person.

Determined to make something happen right, we decided to take Shannon and Tracy up on the offer of going to their city egg hunt with them. (This was wise to partner up with them, we needed their assistance!) It was early, we had to be 20 minutes away from home at about 8:45. Odds were not in our favor. But, we did it! We made it!

Once there, Tracy took Duncan and Charlotte to the 5-6 group, I took Ian and Grey to the 3-4, and Matthew and Shannon took Asher and Asa to the 1-2 group. The countdown begun and Ian was off! And I mean off, like a dart, like a dart that doesn't stop to pick up any eggs. Yes, he didn't get any eggs, he was just running around with his cute little basket looking pretty adorable. 'Oh, eggs! I will get this one...' He was pretty selective. He only got four eggs total. But he didn't stop he was running and running and running. There weren't any eggs left but he was running around like he was looking for them but having seen him skip over what must have been a hundred eggs just moments before, I knew it wasn't eggs he was looking for. I had to walk all the way across the circle to retrieve him! You would think it was actually early Spring and they haven't had enough time outside or something!

We met back up with the crew where Asher was screaming his fool head off because he can't settle for taking a bite of something he wants the WHOLE THING. Now. So I think it involved chocolate... but he was sad. Charlotte and Duncan were cracking their eggs, everyone was feeding their faces. Good times. It was over in 5 minutes but at least I did something right this week. It takes a village.

Come Easter. Yay Easter! This year the kids got a couple coloring books and LOTS of candy. The Easter Bunny brought way more candy than I will ever let them eat so I am not sure what it was thinking. Oh wait... yes I do. I think the Easter Bunny had something else planned until a very (accidentally) snoopy individual went sifting through drawers he shouldn't have. All of a sudden Duncan says "Mom, why do you have these toys in here?" What? What?! Ugh! Foiled!

So sometime during the night as the Easter Bunny came the St. Patty's candy went in the big garbage.

Before I sign off, let's talk about this Easter Bunny for a minute. Am I the only one that had no idea the Easter Bunny went wandering around the house laying eggs? Key word "LAYING"? Because this thought never ever occurred to me until I read another blog this week and then Duncan asked me twice about the Easter Bunny coming to lay eggs. Is that how the eggs get there?

When talking to Matthew he, after saying I had no childhood, said that this was of course what the bunny did. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this. Bunnies do not lay eggs. Ever. Funny that I have had years to warm up to a large bunny sneaking in, in the middle of the night with a basket full of colorful candy filled eggs to hide but when faced with the prospect of an egg laying bunny it's immediately rejected.

I can't be the only one that had no idea the bunny LAYED the eggs.

Okay, after an informal survey, apparently Matthew (and Duncan) are the only ones thinking that the bunny lays the eggs! Most agree with me that he gathers them... why else would we die them before hand? (Though... REAL eggs laying out freaks me out...) Syd threw Matthew a bone and said the bunny might lay jelly beans but definitely not the eggs!

Ready, oh SO ready to get those eggs! Or not...

Only pic of Dylan, camera shy.

Very proud of the eggs he collected

Tracy wanted a shot of them together with all of their baskets but this is all he gets. I had another where Duncan and Charlotte were all about it but we lost the front two!

Looks like he is getting in to something he isn't supposed to doesn't he?

Two very tired boys and their eggs, Easter Eve

Can't. Get. It. Open.

Egg!!!!

Hey, he spilled the Nerds, he cleans them up. Dope move with the Nerds Easter Bunny.

Oh yea, this bunny is going DOWN.

Tooth out, tooth in, teeth teeth teeth

Dylan lost her other tooth last Friday! I told Debi on Thursday that it was really really close but instead of having it at school she saved all the excitement for me. It wasn't very exciting though, Matthew just noticed about 3/4 of the way through the day that it was gone. Well there you have it. Her new adult tooth is pretty cute coming in next to the blank space it left.

Needless to say I did a pretty thorough vacuuming on Saturday.

Greyson also has a tooth and I will just come out and say it, I don't really like it. Boo. He thinks it's pretty funny and he sticks his tongue out to feel it on the bottom. I prefer the gummy smile though. Too bad because there is another tooth right on it's heels.

We cleaned Dylan's carpet for the first time because I accidentally fed it. She needed a new tube coming from her belly because the extension to the food wouldn't stay in and I was going to do it. I was... but I didn't and it pulled out and kid approved flavor, all over the floor. So when it was nice and warm outside I hauled it out to the back patio and brought out the cleaner. Then we threw it up on the pergola to dry. easy easy easy. I think the carpet cleaner was a great investment. We have gotten our money's worth for sure! Yay tubies!

This mom forgot about St. Patrick's Day... WIN! So after Matthew went to choir practice in the morning I had him run to the store for rainbow type items. Maybe the leprechauns would visit us while the boys were all in church this week. (Technically my turn but the choir was singing so it was stolen right from underneath me...). I took a nap and the little rascals left something out for the boys for after church and turned the milk green.

Man... I really wish I did take a nap... any how.

The boys came in and followed the trail of "gold" and Ian started unwrapping chocolate (sometimes not all the way) and shoving it in his pie hole as quickly as possible. "Stop, STOP! We need to get a picture! Okay commence pie hole stuffing..."

Matthew got the rest of the swingset put together (he had to switch the swings around so Duncan couldn't kick the fence...) and put together the airplane teeter totter grandma got them for Christmas. It's so fun outside! And so fun to have a screen door that it just RIGHT there where I can see and hear them playing. I love it.

Asher was content to sit in the baby swing all day long. I went to take him out for lunch and unbuckled him and the thing dropped down from his lap, he promptly kicked it back up on to his lap and sat. he didn't want to get out, even though he was only swinging maybe half of the time! He loved it!

Even though I took like a million loads of dog poo to the garbage the day before Asher still found himself some and played in it. GROSS! Must have been new though since he was able to squish it all through his fingers. Yes, really... So I am glad he likes the swing, it's a good place for the curious little dude!

Duncan found our new neighbor Tia and he lurves her. They think each other is the cat's meow and they always (always) want to play. Tia's mom and I have a plan to get them from house to house since it's not easy for either of us to pick up and go on a whim (she has twin's a couple month's younger than Asher). We both walk to the end of our drive way and wave at each other and send the kids right over. The other day Tia beat us out there and the went running back to her house but they stopped to hold hands in the middle. Sonia (Tia's mom) said she was sure it was Tia's idea, she loves to hold hands!

When it was time to come home Sonia calls and I go out, we wave, and she send them on down.

We love to have a neighbor that is so close to the same age! Poor Ian though, he feels a little left out and will especially so when the twins start playing with Asher! He keeps wanting to go to Tia's house too! It's fine when they are here but if not he misses them! We have another neighbor a little ways away, Charlie, and maybe he can come play when Tia and Duncan are playing... except, they want to play all the time. I am sure it's new and fun and it won't always be this way.

Sunday Tia even drew him a picture of a rainbow and a phone and gave it to him at church.

So glad they are normal! Hopefully they think we are!

Tracy and Shannon came over a couple of times this weekend. Tracy had to help Matthew hang a new TV he got for our front room. I sent him for a smaller TV for the work-out room and he came home with a smaller one and a larger one. Not exactly what I had in mind but it sure is pretty. Since we were then up a TV the smaller one goes back. The boys had fun playing with the box the next day! The outside printed box was so slippery with socks it was like Ian was on ice. It was propped up on the couch and Ian would try to run up it and come sliding down. Pretty funny.

Ahhh, poor Matthew, he just completed the list on the fridge and I tore it down and made a new one. He just comes home and works works works. He loves it though, he likes fixing stuff. We are way behind on the shows we used to watch together but that's just the way it goes I guess!

Little rascals... the leprechauns of course.

Asher and the swing

Lots of this going on lately

Last night with Mason since they had to go back home! He is clearly "kissing" Grey but obviously Grey doesn't quite understand.

We even went out in the snow! Probably for the last time this season.

Boys and a really big box

And this is what a girl does with the TV packaging material. A queen on her throne.

Whipped cream! Does he like it?

Yummmmm!

Let's not do that again!

It happened... After five years, it finally happened! Dylan's button popped out of her belly! Balloon intact!

YIPES!

Okay okay, not all that big of a deal normally. I change her button, you pop one out (deflating the balloon though!) and pop the new one in. No biggie.

Recently we got very brave and stopped bandaging and taping her button down. We are now using Button Buddies which are pads that go around the button, it basically for cuteness... and for leaking. Truthfully, most tubies are able to go without anything but the fabric of the button buddy has goo on it, as did the bandages so we are not ready for nothing yet... Syd sent me an easy pattern for making my own button buddies but I do not know how to work a sewing machine yet, nor do I have time... so I will just keep the pattern around for a little while, maybe like 5 years. Anyway... where was I?

Her button CAME OUT!

After Dylan's morning feed I noticed the tube came untaped from her belly. We normally leave the extension tube attached and "tented" which is a way of taping it to make sure if it is pulled on the tape kind of adjusts for the stress and the button itself really doesn't move. The tape we use is Mefix and it's gentle on the skin but if you pull on it just after you tape it it comes right off, like it needs time to cure or something, who knows... So I see it dangling and I tuck it into her onsie knowing I would deal with it for her next feed in a few hours.

Hours later I grab her and her food, lay her down, hook her up and start the feed. Then I lift up her onsie to retape and it's NOT IN! It's just laying there! Ballon inflated and all. As I am starting to add up the time it has been out of her belly I stop the feed and run... RUN to the sink to get a syringe to take the water out so I can shove that little baby back in.

I lay her down, remove the water, lube it up (thank you lube for cathing that is oh, so, readily available) and try to put it in. But I can't. I look and all I see is and indent with white tissue across the bottom, looking very much like a second belly button. Flat on the bottom, no where for the button to go in.

Cue panic attack.

With the buttons you are really not supposed to let them be out for longer than 30 minutes. Mind you, we are at 3+ hours. Ahhhh! No wait... AHHHHHH! My mind is reeling. If I can't get her button in, if it heals, then she will need a full fledge surgery again to place a new one. The full deal. Mind you, she is hungry now, she will need an OG tube, STAT! Ahhhhh!

If it comes out and you can't get it back in you are supposed to take them to the emergency room. So I am counting children. Two cute boys outside playing, Greyson getting very irritated with me on the couch, Asher... who knows where Asher was, likely following me around from room to room. I call Matthew... twice. No answer. I call LouAnn (I cannot take all these kids to the emergency room!). No answer.

I am not a panicker... I am panicking.

Then it occurs to me, if I can get anything in there, anything... Then no surgery. In the emergency kit I think there is a Foley Catheter. (This is a cath with an inflatable balloon on the end, much like her button. You can inflate it to keep the cath in place, think for an epidural *wink*) So I BOLT upstairs. Pull down the kit, rip it open and find the cath and bolt back down to hungry Dylan's room. I lube it up and aim for a dimple...

Win, WIN! Angels were singing!

Oh my word, breath, breath... I blow up the balloon and tape the cath and start her food. She will be much more cooperative with me if she is fed.

I got the cath in, what's next? It was time for a new button anyway... The buttons come with a little golf tee looking thing that you put inside the button when placing it in the stoma. This hold the button taut, otherwise it's rather flexible for comfort. Once you put the button in you remove the golf tee. (This was an ingenious addition just a year or two ago!) So I pull out a new button, get everything ready and head in. It's worth a shot and I am guessing that's all the doctor's would do anyway. (Turns out, after hearing stories, that's about right!)

Then, yep, I got it in. With a little bit more force than usual, but it went in. Halle, freaking, lujah.  It wasn't a pleasant experience for my little girl, though no tears, she just yelled at me and kept pulling and pushing my hands away while I was retaping. No surgery needed, other kids pretty much none the wiser.

Oh my word.

Next time let's try to catch it before three hours later mkay?

Picture catch up!

Picture catch up time! This morning Eden called me because she needed a little help with Afton's birthday invitation and I told her I would need to see if the picture computer was set up... I ran down and was in AWE of all the progress Matthew had made on the office/hobby/music room last night! You can see the floor! There are still a few boxes in the middle that will need to be sorted through and put away but it is totally manageable!

So not only could I help Eden but I could also go through my pictures!

However, I did notice that Greyson always wear those puppy jammies (why? Because they are awesome, soft and cozy!) and Dylan is always in her pink shirt and grey pants! Really... every picture of Dylan she is wearing the same thing! At least her hair is different right?

On with the pictures!

Dad was bouncing a ball up in the air to make them all look forward, I was just taking pictures like crazy!

Best of both worlds, Crayons made of Legos.

I was trying to get Greyson back to sleep before I got up with the boys one morning while Matthew was out of town. I just needed a few more minutes! This is what I walked out to... They all had a cookie for breakfast.

Chocolate cupcakes from grandma. Duncan had no idea anything was on his face. He wanted to see the picture and ran over after I took it (like he always does!) and saw and kind of freaked out a little. Started licking his lips in an effort to salvage all of that frosting!

Getting them all riled up before bed - No I am not kidding. Then he wanted five more minutes for them to wind down! Uhm...

My little dare devil! I love this gummy smile!

Daddy showing off her new tooth coming in that gap!

Asher was surprisingly exctied about his very own stool. Cute.

This is Dream Light excitement in case you are wondering.

This is a really annoying game that drives mommy nuts.

Oh hey... This isn't so bad! (As long is it's not sweet potatoes!)

Down with sweet potatoes!

I had a great birthday! I was spoiled by everyone. Love love love. And I am looking forward to a few hours at the spa which is Matthew's new go-to gift. works for me. It's time!

A couple of weeks ago I started to notice that Duncan had some dry dry skin. He started to complain about his bum and a few other spots. It was bad! So I lotioned him up well at night and tried to keep on top of it. Until he woke up with hives all over his face! Hives! I washed all of his sheets and everything so I am not sure what the deal was... No new foods, no changes, hives! On his face! I gave him Benadryl but it didn't help so I went ahead and took him in to Dr Ped. It was a new Ped in the office, I liked him, well... Other than he got paid a lot to tell me a whole lot of nothing! No clue why, get some good lotion and Hydrocortisone, the hives will eventually go away. From talking to others the hives might be his body reacting to such a bad eczema outbreak (it was bad!) and really, as soon as we got that under control the hives went right away. How strange!

We had a Saturday adventure and we went out to eat and to a museum with Shannon and Tracy. I could not believe how well behaved the kids were for lunch. It was quiet, they were good and polite, they ate... It was crazy! So good Matthew and I were analyzing the situation and ultimately came up with that it was lunch and not dinner. Just the end of the day meal is a bit harder on them? More antsy? Really, if they were that good all the time we could go out to eat as a family once and a while but I am not ready to push my luck yet!

We then headed up to the museum display where we were greeted and promptly told that there were no strollers allowed on the display floor. Well hmmm... We could carry Dylan and Asher and Greyson or we could sit with the stroller and go in shifts. Then Shannon pointed out that Dylan should be granted permission because of the special needs issue. Oh phew! Excellent point! So we did get permission for the stroller which was honestly, miserable to navigate in there anyway. I am not in there very long before I heard two men, disgruntled because they were told to park their stroller, mumble to each other about us having a stroller in there. I snapped at him "Umm, SHE is special needs?!" And they looked like deer in headlights. I tried to give them the stink eye the whole rest of the time but they wouldn't look at me. Haha!

Seriously though! If they want a special needs child just for the awesomeness of taking a stroller in somewhere it shouldn't go? More power to them... Trust me, there are better reasons! (PS. We "get" to park in handicap spaces too!)

I missed the mark on Wacky Wednesday for the kid's preschool. They were supposed to wear something mismatched or backwards and I hadn't even switched my calendar to March yet! (And had yet to hunt down the March calendar even!) I was in a little bit of trouble from Duncan... Whoops! Betting that wont be the last time that happens! Sorry in advance kiddos!

The other night I fed Greyson a new food and some cereal and he was eating it up! He loved it. He ate quite a bit! Then I sent him off to sleep and he woke up very sad. I went in to get him and he had thrown up everywhere... It was SO MUCH, all over. I felt bad because it was all over in a manner that he probably even choked a little. Scary! I scoop him up and he proceeds to vomit, pretty violently over my shoulder on to the tile in the bathroom... I don't think I have ever had a child throw up so much, so forcefully. I stripped him down on a towel, he was super pale and he just kept gagging. Poor baby! This was crazy! So I tossed him in my wrap where he gagged and whimpered and slept for a couple of hours.

I was supposed to go pick up Matthew from the airport but I didn't want to stick him in a carseat for that long so I called my pitch hitters. LouAnn had offered and said that she would put Melissa's girls to bed and send Melissa. Meanwhile, wouldn't you know it, Dylan had an awesome blow out and this mama changed her clothes, cleaned her up, cathed her and did wher whole bedtime routine (again) with Greyson in the wrap (whimpering). Wow, not fun... Would not recommend it, but you do what you have to do.

Melissa came in after Matthew and told me this story about how MaKell cannot have sweet potatoes. She had tried it as a first food and had a violent reaction. No more sweet potatoes! Except then Melissa had sweet potato fries and nursed her and the same thing happened. Her Ped said it was a crazy reaction since an allergy to sweet potatoes would mean and allergy to many other things that she hadn't had a reaction with. Just some fluke thing!

Well, wouldn't you know it... Guess which first food Greyson had? Yup! sweet potatoes!

So after a couple hours of lots of sadness and gagging he wanted to nurse and he nursed like a champ and had a night of normal sleeping like nothing ever happened. Fine in the morning! Long story... now very long (Matt-ism!) no more sweet potatoes for Greyson! Melissa said she always knew he belonged to her!

Yes, you read right in that long story... Matthew was out of town again! I normally have help from Eden but she was tied up all week so I did it solo. Now I need that massage and pampering Matthew gave me for my birthday!

One of the days Matthew was gone Bridger came over to play with Duncan - It worked out perfectly because Eden had parent teacher conferences that afternoon and I told her she should leave Lanie too. (What's another one right?) Lanie is just pure entertainment anyway, she has the funnest personality and because she is Asher's age, only speaking, she says the cutest things! When she talks I can totally hear those thoughts cross Asher's mind so it's really fun. She did turf it into a chair though and got a pretty decent ouchie by her eye. Poor girl. Hopefully she can be trusted with me again because it was super fun!

Meanwhile, in other news, I am a Great Aunt... officially... Paige had her baby Hazel a little over a week ago and she is such a cutie! Just speaking in terms of pictures, we haven't met her yet. Paige seems like a six weeks kind of mom and I don't travel alone very often! So it might be a little while before we meet. Paige has been touching base with me on some nursing questions... I am not sure why she thinks I know a lot about it, hmmm...? Any time I can help I am happy too, I am glad she feels comfortable calling her Aunt the human cow.

Kiko and Meggie are in town but we haven't seen them yet because Owen isn't feeling well and well... we are. So please. Sorry... we love you... but we can wait a couple of days! I am sure we will see them tonight at Ami's!

Matthew has the big boys at church (it was his turn...) and I keep having to stop typing this because Asher keeps tackling Dylan. He is laying her flat out on the ground trying to play and she is not a fan. Poor girl. Boys, boys and more boys. Off to save Dylan!

HPE class of the late twenty-ots

This is more just a random observation of and interesting dynamic really, which likely doesn't make for a very interesting blog post but I feel belongs in my journal nonetheless!

There is a whole new crop of HPE kids now that I am totally out of touch with! Is is such an odd feeling because our kids are born in groupings of a few years or so, where we get to know others who are going through the same kinds of struggles together. Diagnosis, mourning, the unknown, the surprises, the feeding tubes, the seizures.

Then things kind of mellow out as we settle into the life that is our new normal. And then a whole new group of kids are born and those of us who grew so close kind of watch as outsiders as the new group of moms get close and deal with all of those things.

I feel like we kind of graduated and we are in to higher education. Dylan's classmates Vinny, Marissa, Abby, Isabella, Eva, Kennedy, Jack... (Though I think Jack was the early twenty-ot class but his mom and I have a thing.) They are all watching this new class... Jane, Liam, Charlie, Gabby as they go through this kind of trying, sharp, learning curve and get used to their new normal. Those mom's really don't build friendship s with the old school moms like they do with each other. Finding strength in those that provide what they need at the moment. They are building the strong relationships that will help them get through this together.

And of course, there was the class before us that we didn't quite connect with I recognize their names when they come up but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Those moms were really more of the pioneers of connecting through social media and they think they own the place!

It's not like I want to go back, but I kind of miss that "welcome to the family! Come join us on our journey!" Exciting, discovering the unknown, time. Where we celebrated another miracle and were that shoulder and that ear the new mom needed. Every mom IN that time longs for it to normalize!

Not that we are totally discounted by the newbies, I think others really love to look at the older HPE kids and they get excited, looking for hope, and timelines, and random advice. And I loooove to look at brand new pictures of teeny babies with their heads not quite the "right" shape, eyes a little too close together though absolutely mesmerizing, and the occasional open smile and crazy eye. It's just not the same as it was when Dylan was little. It's okay though, someone quick, please tell me routine and calm is good! I am liable to move again!

Well, then there is Jane. She is a a September baby like my Greyson. Her mom found me and we found the link that we were both pregnant at the same time and that's all it took, Jane is my HPE kiddo número dos. She is gorgeous and I love talking to her mom and looking at pictures. Jane has a ton of promise and I get so excited thinking about what the future has in store for her!

Here are pictures of my little Jane. (Don't worry, her mom doesn't mind that I call her mine!) - You can follow her story here.

Not sure what made me go off in this direction but it's quite possibly because Dylan graduated Dr Endo this week. No need to go there for services because Dr. Ped can take it all from here. So we can say goodbye to one of her specialists! Talk about things normalizing and getting under control. (Knocking on wood.) We only need to go back if Dr Ped recommends it or we have growth issues. If she stays on the same growth curve she will be about 56 inches tall when she is all grown up. Petite, but so am I!

For now I have Jane to keep me on my toes in the HPE world, I will take it!

Yay! You did it!

I thought I was doing so well with the blog and then I realized that I had written this post and not published it so now I have to update it! Yipes! Still no pics, ugh! I know! They are coming! (I hope!)

We did it! We moved Asher to the big boy bed and he did fantastic. He got out of bed only one single time and I was watching in the video monitor. I told him not to get out and he popped out so I ran as fast as I could up the stairs and opened his door and his arms flung out and he screamed. I startled him! Needless to say that was it. He stayed in bed all night and has really only gotten out of bed one other time. He gets as far as the closed door and flips his lid. I have to open it a little at night and during naps so he can walk out on his own or he loses his lid. He also seems to think getting up really early is a GREAT idea, I disagree. What is it with my early bird kids?

The crib goes back to Eden! Back to a one crib house! One and a half anyway, considering Dylan's is a modified crib! She will be out of that soon enough.

Ian got the twin and he thinks it's pretty awesome. Upgrade! He is back to taking people up to his room to show them his big boy bed. First it was the green room itself he was so excited about and now everyone has to go tour it again to see the bed!

The other night little Eden was over and I "Simon Says" told them to do summer saults and the boys all started rolling around over and over. Except Asher who was watching and laughing. He has done them but he often gets it wrong and ends up flinging himself on the floor backwards. Eden wouldn't do one, she said she didn't know how... So I told her, on her knees, head on the floor by her knees and flip her bum over and she did it. At which time Asher stood up on a cube chair and yelled "Yay! You did it!" and started clapping excitedly. We all started laughing at him, which made him smile and clap more.

I have actually parked my car in the garage for two weeks, baby steps! The garage is still a madhouse, but Matthew started by putting the stuff is in pockets of where it goes in storage on shelves up on the ceiling. He has been hanging shelves at night all week to try and clear things out. I bet he only needs a few more hours in there and it will be good to go. The office/hobby room is a mess! It should go quickly once he gets to it but he had to go out of town and then the focus has been getting the cars in the garage.

Eden and LouAnn came over while Matthew was gone to help me put some more stuff away and organize and pick up the room where all the toys landed (until a boy lands there of course!) and it looks fantastic! I swear, give Eden and hour and you will be amazed at what she can do. They just came in and got the job done. What a relief!

We are out of the other house for good but we were there up until the last night! Even if it was just the motor cycle remaining! Melissa came to help me do a final once over cleaning and then Matthew went back over to write little notes on everything to let them how how to reset codes and things.

The morning that it was supposed to be the new neighbors Wendy took down the sale pending sign so they could pick up the big sign and not only did I get a couple calls from neighbors to make sure everything was okay but Wendy got three to see if it was for sale! I told the neighbors to watch for the new owners who we had given permission to move in early, prior to it funding and recording. In fact, the guy called me when they were on their way to thank me, he sounded very nice. Later that day he text Matthew to thank him for the notes and for taking such good care of the house. Cute.

The dad/guy/man got up and talked in church this week but wouldn't you know it? That was in the ten minutes I had slipped out to feed Greyson! Of course! So they are still names and not faces but Duncan said the little girl is in his class which is... AWESOME. A new friend, four houses away. I hope they are normal...

Greyson had a couple of very bothersome ears. He had a horrible horrible night and I called Trina on a daddy hunch to have her take a look. He had just gotten of amoxicillin for the eye thing... But apparently he needed something a little more? Thank goodness we caught her, she left for Mexico the next morning! Phew! He seems to be doing great now but I have a hunch he is teething because he is hands in mouth constantly and drooling like crazy.

Speaking of teeth, Dylan is getting a big girl tooth in that little hole left from her mini tooth. It's pretty cute even though I am dreading that second one escaping! Ewwwe!

Greyson has now had carrots, apples, peaches and baby mixed grains. He loves eating! I have to make time to feed him solids since he likes them so much!

Asher says so much! At his appointment I was asked if he was putting words together and I swear, the week after the questions are asked my kids bust out. He says: Let's go, over there, you did it!, I did it!. Because everyone loves hearing about his antics, he pulled out the bin of duplo box and dove in... DOVE in! Then sat there and smiled! He also took every single pair of leggings and pants Dylan owns and strewn them about Dylan's room. They were hanging off her bed, off shelves.... Everywhere! My word!

Matthew finally gave in to his persistent whining for Dylan's food and opened one and dumped it right into a sippy cup and handed it over. He did not let go of it until he had emptied it! Drank the entire thing! Can we get a collective "ewwwwwwe!" Here? Matthew turned to me and told him that he wouldn't be needing much to eat seeing as how he just drank his lunch!

I put Ian in his Spider-Man jammies and I said "come here Spider-Man!" And he said "I not Spider-Man! I Ian-boy!" He is really into the song that was last month's Primary song and it's so cute when he finishes the line "boo boo skyyyyyy". Grandma LouAnn printed him little flash cards so we can play and sing it.

Hoping to have pictures next time I post! Yesterday we took the first one here of all the kids on the couch together and, while Dylan did not cooperate (as is her style) I think we got one that will work. I hope!

Oh yea... and It's my birthday! What? It's my birthday! Holla!
