Before we went to church for the blessing our friends Shannon and Tracy came over to snap some family photos. Tracy's not a professional but he takes some great photos and knows a lot about cameras, that makes him our guy! Mind you, we weren't looking for anything too fancy, but we don't get our picture taken as a family often at all, and it's the one time we are all dressed up and looking decent at the same time! It's hard enough getting all the kids together, much less Matthew and I in the shot!
Dylan wasn't about going outside, she never is... and Ian was just being a little defiant. Basically not sitting still just because we wanted him to sit still! That's our little man, what can we say! Oh well, we did get some keepers, HUGE thanks to Tracy (and Shannon for being a child wrangler).
It was a packed house at the church because our family and friends take up a quarter of the chapel! There wasn't a free seat in the house! Fortunately we had enough family to farm the kids out because Duncan does not sit still. Plenty of hands to catch him as he ran!
At one point my visiting teacher stood up and commented "... even with her hands full with D... D...," desperately trying to remember, "...Duncan, she..." And all of our family felt she was inspired, even though she obviously meant to say Dylan, she got the more *ahem* challenging child right on!
Because of the crowd, I had Matthew run out and give our garage code to Jess and Steve hoping that they would be comfortable busting in the Anderson house until we got back...
Not only were they comfortable enough to bust in (which is awesome by the way) but she made herself right at home preparing for our guests! She said she saw the rolls so she knew there was a ham somewhere and went and found the meat in the garage fridge. Then found a random basket in the laundry room to put the rolls in! We walked in to a ball already rolling! Fantastic, we should hire her out.
Asher slept all afternoon from about 4 to 8:30, right on the couch... big day!
On Monday Megan came over to watch the big kids while Asher and I skipped off to visit Dr Ped. Asher's a big boy! He's 23 and 3/4 inches long(90th percentile) and 11 lbs 12 oz (75th percentile)! He's long and skinny though, his weight for height is only in about the 7th percentile! After three pokes (boo!) we were out of there with nothing else to report. He's sore tonight, sad.
It's for the better, he'll love me for it some day. Do you know there's a measels outbreak happening here? Our Ped said in order to work up at the Children's hospital you have to show proof of two MMR shots or proof you've had measels!
On to the photos!
Saturday night, Asher's smiling at Uncle Tracy (Blue eyes!)
He must kind of like him or something.
Sunday afternoon, which would you like? Small medium or large?
"Medium" is pretty cute... Meet Lanie.
Self-portrait, everyone's doing it!
Cousin Eden! She's gorgeous right? Big trouble..
Grandma LouAnn
Ian's all about the activity, well as long as he's in someone's arms (no nap) Kristen had him most of Saturday AND Sunday!
Look at Duncan's face!
He looks so sweet right?! Super cute of Asher's cry face too!
Guess who wouldn't cooperate and sit with the other kids?
So we threw him in the middle! (This is my personal favorite actually! Might have to go on the top of the blog if I start feeling motivated!)
Dylan already balking at the sun! She hates it!
(It might be related to her CVI diagnosis)
Check Duncan out!
No really, check him out. Isn't he handsome? He was tearing it up for the camera!
One of mom and Asher...
We are putting on a show...
Because, as many of you know, this is what we are really like!
