Two items of feedback

I got two pieces of feedback from my last couple of items. the first "Your thing about Blue Cheese, really?!" and to that my friends, I say yes... really. Apparently Jessica has liked it since she was 12 but since we tease her about not having a childhood anyway, this is not new news. Not that I think you're old Jess, I hope not anyway, seeing as how we are pretty close to the same age.

And the other was a special unexpected call from Grandma Shirley who said had she known that she was going to be famous she would have "gussied up" a little! I am not sure she was too happy about the pictures but I think she's beautiful and I told her so. I didn't particularly like the ones of me either!

A nurse from DDI (the Early intervention group) came over to visit Dylan yesterday and do her yearly evaluation. Apparenlty because she received gentamicin she is at risk for hearing problems. She got it twice too, once when she has spinal menengitis and the other with the infected sacral cyst! At the Neonatal follow up clinic they tested her hearing and while she didn't really pass with flying colors, she passed... enough so the guy tested her told us it wasn't time to learn sign language yet. Although we should, just to see what Sara's trying to tell Bert in secret at the next get together. Last time it was "Don't forget we owe them 20 bucks" and "It's about time to go" which is not all that exciting I guess. Anyway, Dylan tests developmentally at about 6-9 months which is better than I thought anyway so I am not complaining!

As the nurse was walking out of the house she commented on what a beautiful family picture the large one hanging in the entry way is. This would be the one before me... and before a bunch of others, including 12 grandkids. I commented that Bob, Matthew's dad, was killed and so we probably won't replace it because it's such a good picture and she said "Oh! that's my dentist!" Apparently she had been going to Dr. Bob since she was 22 and she's 51! She absolutely loved him (even though he always made her wait!) and has been dentist shopping ever since to try and replace her all time favorite dentist. It was kind of neat to talk to her actually.

That's about it, Dylan finally had her last two molars cut through, that makes 11 teeth for her and only 5 for Duncan. Remember when he had a bunch and she didn't have any? Too funny.

This would be Duncan, *in* the stove drawer, playing with lids from the next drawer over. He was eating them too. What can we say, baby saliva and dog hair, both a risk when you get something from this house, we'd like to think that it (whatever it might be) will be worth the risk.

Can you believe how quickly this bite is healing?? It happened on Saturday! not even a week and look at it. This was last night. Likely right before and right after I got after him for trying to get up on his knees in his seat.

And cute little furry Dylan. I tried to get a good one of Duncan playing with her in this thing and they never really work out. I am sure that he is who she's looking at inthis picture though.

Knitting night #1!

Okay - So a few posts ago when i said I was going to start that new crochet project that was way over my head? Yea, well... I lied. Kind of, I started and restarted and restarted but I don't think that counts. So last night, when we had our FIRST EVER knitting/Bachelor watching night, Jessica and I figured it out! And I am not completely crazy, it was a little 'different' but we did it and I am on my way! So it's officially started, and coming along nicely... I am on row 8 of 1865! (Just kidding about the 1865, I hope.)

Matthew was over helping Keltsey with their basement so he wasn't here to watch the kids like planned but they were so good it didn't even matter. Duncan is totally crushing on Jessica, it's so funny. He is not as flirty or cutsie with any other person like he is with her. And he was like this when we went out to eat remember? It's so funny! I think he must know that he's related to almost all the other women in his life so he can't crush on them. Dylan even went to bed before 11 so it was a real treat.

Look what Trina got the babies! It was a surprise, she said she couldn't pass them up! They should fit into them about summer which will be perfect so they can show them off and they don't have to wear warm clothes over the top. There's another Suess onsie for each on the other side too. So cute!

And a cute pictue of Dylie yesterday, she got comfy but didn't sleep for very long.

New tooth, teeth marks, and a visit from grandma!

So Duncan cut a molar... He's working on them all I think, been chewing on his fingers and stuff and been a little feisty. Not a lot fiesty, just a little, he's so easy going you notice when things aren't quite right. Hopefully they will come through soon. He needs them to eat since he thinks he needs a 12 inch Sub and wants to eat it all on his own!

Beth's done with High School, early because she's just plain done and wants to get out. She's like me, I could have graduated early but instead just took art classes the last half of the year. Then, also like me, she's not planning to walk in the line at graduation. I didn't even do it for college, so we will see if she changes her mind by then. We went to my mom's on Saturday and were surprised to see that Aunt Nancy and Uncle Pat were in town! What a great surprise! It's always fun to see everyone.

The whole night wasn't filled with fun though, Chloe bit Duncan right on his cute little cheeky. I meant to pay attention too since she has snapped at him before (and then got after me for getting after her) and she's tried for Abbi too. I was just wrapped up in my completely cranky little girl and forgot. It broke the skin just at the top, he will be fine, he was okay 2 miutes after it happened and fortunately easy going like Matthew so he won't be scarred for life. We probably should have locked her up after she snapped the first couple of times but now it's a for sure deal. What is it with little dogs and kids? Makes me appreciate my big dog and the big dogs over there that much more!

Last Thursday we got a visit from Grandma Shirley again which means we have been spoiled the last couple months. It's not great that she's coming down for surgeries and appointments but it's good we get to see her! We went to Spaghetti Factory for yummy food and took some pictures outside.

Dylan's eyes got infected too, and all those teeth... so she did not have a great weekend. Hopefully it will be over soon. My Ped's office rocks and they called in a prescription rather then having me run over there late on Saturday. I wasn't going to fill it if nothing happened but late saturday and Sunday it got bad and she's actually doing better already.

Where I found my son, part II

Almost missed this one! He opened the drawer, climbed in one side crawled through and climbed out the other. Opening drawers is new, we learned that yesterday and we are very very proud of ourselves.

And here is a sampling of the pictures from last week... they aren't the picture files, I don't have them so I kind of screen captured them so the colors a little off and stuff but the real ones will be super cute. There's more, they took a lot which is nice... but these are the ones we ordered I think.

Where I just found my son...

So I guess it begins right? Tracy and Shannon warned me, only their warning was the dishwasher, close!

He's really sick, has a cold. I wish I took a picture of him on Monday because he looked like I punched him in the nose. He had dark circles under his eye and eye infections, and what Jill thinks was a broken blood vessel in his eye (from coughing maybe? so sad...) In fact, at the wedding she said "You told me how bad he looked and it's way worse!" I love Jill. He's getting better though, on antibiotics for his eyes.

Michael's married and we have a new sister Megan! Yay! It was snowing really bad outside the temple, and cold... so only a few pictures there for the big family but I am sure the pictures of the two of them together will be gorgeous. Their second reception is in Logan tonight, that's where she's from. Matthew's going but I am staying home with the kiddos. At the reception Matt Christensen took a couple pictures of our family and Dylan so we will see how they turned out. Hopefully good since the last family picture we got wasn't my favorite. Crossing my fingers... I think Ami got some good ones of Dylan too, her and her kiddos were out and about snapping pictures.

2x the teething = 2x the fun!

So I do believe that both babies are teething now. Duncan's been a bit cranky and for the happiest kid alive, that's pretty rare. I would say, even if he is teething he's still in good spirits. I think he might be getting sick too, both of is have a nose throat thing... This means I missed the NICU this Saturday but I went on Thursday so it's all good. Duncna was up really early this morning, so hopefulyl we have a family nap time at some point today!

So starts the wedding week. The long awaited union of Michael and Megan. We have dinner on Monday night. Mom's coming over to watch the babies while we go downtown. It's the same place that LouAnn did Jared's dinner, the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and it was really nice so that should be a good night with family. Poor mom though, teething babies that are quite possibly getting a cold, no fun! The wedding is Tuesday at the downtown temple and the reception Tuesday night. The first reception... the second one is Wednesday night in Logan but I think I will be missing that one. Sending representation though, Matthew's going.

We got the kids' pictures taken on Friday, we were very brave! I think Matthew now understands why I have only done it once and I won't go by myself. The two of us chasing Duncan around the room and holding Dylan sitting up was a complete joke but she got some good ones. Better price than at Kiddie Kandids for sure... so thanks mom for that Target coupon you saved for me. They will be online in a few days I think and we pick up the ones we ordered on the 12th. that seems so long form now! I guess that's why you pay more and get worse pics at KK, you get them the same day!

The other day we went to Shannon and Tracy's for dinner. She made some Cayenne rubbed chicken with avacado salsa that was so delicious I might actually have to make it myself. It was so yummy! So I took the recipe and we will see. We went over to play that quiz game for the PS3, the one with the buzzers? It was actually quite fun... I started out surprisingly well and then went down in flames, but at least I started out well, that was better than I even expected! Speaking of Cayenne, isn't that what *someone* used to put on my thumb to try and get me to quit sucking it? (Why do you look guilty Aunt Jane?) I am over it though, seriously... not scarred at all... ...

Jessica and Steve came over last night for games and we had so much fun! Any evening starting out with Rusted Sun Pizza will be awesome, but with great friends and great games it just got better. We played Killer Bunnies which is a completely ruthless card game that they gave us for Christmas. Steve's bunnies were taking over the world until the black hole sucked some up and something like a jack hammer did the rest in. (Sorry Steve, love you!) Then we played Lost Cities which Shannon and Tracy got Matthew for Christmas and it's a really good one too. Both games were winners!

Matthew has to go back to work tomorrow. Boo! Hiss! I don't know what the kids are going to do, Duncan kind of likes him and has gotten quite used to having him around. And let's face it, the babies have him wrapped around their tiny little fingers. Duncan just follows him around the house as fast as possible. It's been a really nice little vacation but I suppose things have to return to normal at some point. *sigh*

I started a new crochet project that is quite complicated (in my inexperienced opinion) but Jessica thinks I can hack it. She picked it out, and Matthew gave me everything for it for Christmas. We will see if I can stick with it or it it ends up something other than what was planned. You'll see a picture of it comeleted in what? A year? Ha!
